Vegan Products Maker and Vegan Cooking Classes
    Easton, PA

Owner of Butterhead Kitchen, Jason Sizemore, sitting at his event space table.

Butterhead Kitchen, based in Easton, was founded by Jason Sizemore, former elementary schoolteacher and principal. Initially, Jason started his business as a side hustle, teaching a Vegan Thanksgiving cooking class in 2018. When that was a success, he added Vegan Comfort Foods and Vegan Italian, and found those were wildly popular as well. Inspired by this new-found market, he left his principal position in 2019, and has been teaching vegan cooking ever since!

Jason says that 90% of his cooking class patrons are actually not vegan themselves! His course catalog has expanded, and his courses are enjoyed by a great diversity of people from the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Butterhead Kitchen sells vegan mozzarella, vegan cream cheese spreads, vegan pepperoni, vegan PA Dutch sweet ring bologna, vegan tuna and vegan chicken salad.

Many of the recipes Jason uses for his products (most notably, his soft mozzarella) have been modified and perfected by him over time, and he endeavors to get them as delicious and authentic-tasting as possible. Butterhead prepares vegan meals and single-plates for holidays and special occasions. They also continue to be a prolific source of vegan cooking classes (on-site, off-site, and online), corporate team-building activities, special events, and smaller-scale vegan catering.

Glass of Cider with 5 Maidens Brand logo

Five Maidens Cider Company formed through a desire to provide high quality craft beverages. Owners Brian and Andrew began their journey back in 2009 with a basic homebrew starter kit and some predesigned recipes. Five Maidens began when Brian and Andrew felt that they reached the peak in their product’s quality, along with the encouragement of their family and friends. They opened their business to share their libations with the local community.

The name Five Maidens has multiple meanings. One definition of maiden is in reference to a fruit tree. In this case, a maiden is a fruit tree in its first year of growth. Because family is such a cornerstone of Brian and Andrew’s lives and because of their desire to provide a family friendly establishment, they took the definition of maiden a step further and applied their own families’ maidens: the three sons and two daughters between their two families. Maiden can also mean a first act or attempt, and so, as the Five Maidens Cider Company is just starting off, it is a first attempt to share Five Maidens’ craft beverages with the Five Maidens’ community.

Jude and Mayra Chartier - Free range chicken farm in the Lehigh Valley

Over 21 years ago, Jude married Mayra from the Dominican Republic. At the time, Jude had horses and occasionally raised beef for personal use. Mayra was never a big beef and pork eater since the primary livestock in the Dominican Republic is chicken, but she hated the quality of poultry that was available in the general grocery store. He told her that he could raise some chickens for her, just like those from the Dominican Republic. That is where the whole story of Chartier Farms really started.

    The chickens of Chartier Farms.

Today, the chickens of Chartier Farms roam the meadows and woods around the barn each day, eating bugs, seeds, fruits, and whatever else they enjoy! Needless to say, the chickens are cage free and humanely raised. Chartier Farms offers many products including all cuts of chicken, chicken burgers, chicken pizzas, smoked items, and chicken sausage.

Items may be ordered for Friday home delivery, or picked up at the Rose Garden Farmer’s Market on 8th Ave in Bethlehem, or picked up directly at the farm in Bath, PA. Delivery areas include Bucks, Lehigh, Northampton, and Monroe Counties in PA, and Somerset, Middlesex, and Warren Counties in NJ.

Since then, she has been expanding her offerings to include lanyards, passport wallets, toiletry bags, dry bags, totes, smaller bags, change purses and more.

Shantés Travel Things products are unique and personally engineered by Shanté to hold up under tough travel conditions. The bright colors and patterns can be chosen to match individuals’ tastes, and distinguish luggage in baggage claim!

Shantés Travel Things aims to be a global brand, featuring one-stop-shop travel website and app, as well as stores in the US and overseas. Michael David Smull - Singer/Songwriter Performing

Michael David Smull, a native of Easton, Pa. and graduate of the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA, has released three albums and many singles with his pandemic-born music project — and one of the funkiest band names known to man.

The Godzilla Attacks Tokyo Kamikaze Blues Band project launched in 2020 as a vehicle for Mike’s original blues, rock and singer/songwriter inspired music. He began performing his music as a solo acoustic act at many local open mics and small venues in 2022. Ever since, he continues to write and release music and is looking forward to performing throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond.

What’s up with the band name? It’s an old joke. Mike will tell you over a coffee or beer sometime or visit his website www.GodzillaAttacksTokyo.com for the full story.
